“A Better World”
Written by Ryan Cayabyab

Centering appears to be the theme of past days, weeks, months.

Feeling more centered. Just a bit more. Then just a lot more.

The move into the unknown… one little move at a time. Two little moves at a time. Then giant leaps.

Experiencing fear as a gateway to freedom.

Somehow, the song has centered me.

Is centering me.

Somehow, the repetitive vocalization — the allowing of my voice to take space, loud, free, unattached to judgment — has led me to meet myself.

A part of myself I did not quite know or understand.

A part of me that can feel the ground.

And can fly.

How letting it out has led me back in.

How outward expression has brought me back within.

A ticket to see me.

To a space where I mattered.

I am song.

An ongoing dance with life.

Dance with me, it beckons.
Sing with me, it calls.

Color the world.

There are pockets of this that still feel scary.

But I found a candle with a flame.

And a certain harmony.

And these are enough to keep me moving on.

And let the music soar.
